Happy Goat Retreat

The best family vacation spot!!! The kitchen was huge & well stocked - perfect for cooking big family meals. The rooms at the big house were comfortable & roomy. The little container homes were cute & cozy. We had an absolute blast. We did all the outdoor things - darts, axe throwing, giant connect 4, swam in the pool, grilled, roasted marshmallows over the fire pit, & fed the goats! Gretchen was a wonderful host & was so communicative & helpful throughout our stay. We would absolutely come back & highly recommend this place.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Happy Goat Retreat for our nieces wedding for a long weekend in January 2026. Our little home was perfect….cozy and comfortable! The retreat provided great space for the wedding and reception! Gretchen went above and beyond to make sure everything was there that was needed. The wedding was exactly as the Bride had wished for, spending time with family and friends in a cozy environment!

Attended a wedding! It was perfect! It would be so perfect for family reunions or friend reunions. So much stuff on site today. Close to stores and restaurants yet when you are there you feel isolated. Hosts were amazing.

Our daughter and husband exchanged their vows here the weekend of Jan 30. It turned out amazing on all levels! The property was awesome and the property manager, Gretchen, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed at all times and we had 35+ people there for three nights! There are plenty of restaurants and stores close by for all your needs also. Highly recommend this place for any situation you are considering!

Our family stayed at Happy Goat for three nights to celebrate a wedding. The retreat is such a unique and fun experience. The containers are very nice and comfortable and the grounds have plenty of activities to keep you busy. It’s secluded and yet close enough to make special coffee runs in the mornings!! The retreat is perfect for weddings, family reunions or a family and friend get away weekend. Fabulous time.

This place is amazing! The amenities are wonderful — there’s a heated pool, a rock garden where you can exchange rocks or paint one and leave it, and a really cool padlock “love wall.” They also have catch-and-release fishing which was such a fun bonus. The tiny homes are incredibly clean and so comfortable to stay in. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The goats are so friendly and fun to feed and brush. And Gretchen, the manager, is one of the most amazing people I’ve met. She made the whole experience even more special!

My husband and I hosted our wedding at the Happy Goat in January 2026 and booked the entire venue for the weekend. Allowing us to spend a full weekend with family and a few friends (about 40 people in total). The short and sweet review is this place is amazing and Gretchen(the host) is an absolute gem of a host and human being. Our weekend at the happy goat was everything we could have ever dreamed of. We showed up a couple days before all of our guests and stayed in the Cadillac suite. Let me tell you this house is GORGEOUS with massive windows in the living room that look over the whole property, a huge kitchen, spacious bedrooms, and comfy beds. It was a great place to store all the decor for the wedding and to use as the bridal suite for getting ready the day of the wedding. Closer to wedding day we moved down to one of the containers to let some family take the house. The containers were such a hit with our group! They were all very well cleaned, each had their own heating/cooling unit which everyone very much appreciated since the weekend was quite cold. Eventhough it was cold all weekend there was plenty of options to keep us warm! Gretchen made sure we had access to as much propane as we needed for the propane heaters, each container had a firepit with plenty of firewood, and there was a central firepit for everyone to gather around. We hosted the welcome dinner, ceremony, and reception all on site and it worked out so well! The property is so well kept, has the perfect layout, and every detail is well thought out. There are plenty of amenities to keep you entertained whether it's playing yard games, sitting around the fire, fishing or chilling in one of the hammocks. My personal favorite was going to hangout with the goats! They were for sure one of the highlights of the weekend. They were all so sweet letting you pet them, brush them and of course feed them. Last but certainly not least a HUGE shout out/thank you to Gretchen! She was in contact with my mom and I for months leading up to the wedding answering so many questions, sending plenty of pics, and gave recommendations for vendors in the area. Then when we arrived she was incredibly helpful giving us a tour of the property to show us anything we may need, answered even more questions, anticipated needs before we could even think of them, was always just a phone call or text away if we did need anything, and was so so very nice! I really can't say enough wonderful things about the Happy Goat Retreat. It will forever hold a special place in my heart and holds so many amazing memories .

Our granddaughter got married and she picked this location so the family and friends can be together. It was awesome. Our grandson was excited to fish. The wedding was at The Homestead which is close by. Some of the wedding party stayed in the house. Our container, Hawg Boss, was cleaned and had everything we needed. Gretchan was great in making sure our stay was comfortable. We were able to count on her to get anything we needed We enjoyed the pool and the many games provided at the barn. It was nice to sit around a fire and visit with family and meet new people. Defiantly a great place for a big gathering.
